Are karrimor shoes any good. Karrimor Hot Rock boots advertised as waterproof. Two walks in of less than 5 miles distance and boots leaked badly. Difficult to dry due to fabric interior so gif smelly quickly.

Karrimor are only generally a midrange shoe in my opinion. And although the very first Karrimors I owned nearly 4 years ago were definately better quality. Proving the change in ownership has effected them they are currently the number 2 in lifespan for the shoes I.

Anyone ever bought any Karimore shoes. I am on the look out for a new pair of treking sports shoes. In the past I have bought Merrels but have noticed all the shoes that sell Merrels sell Karrimores for a fraction of the price - despite both now having about 50 off the supposed retail price.
I think Karrimor has changed from a top brand to a budget brand unfortunately. The stuff is reasonably good quality though. I doubt you would be dissapointed with your purchase just dont look for the highest quality technically good kit that you used to get from them.
Yes Karrimor shoes are now pretty poor and suffer from Sports Directs policy of lying about everything in the store being reduced. All of the RD money seems to go into making them look good. The materials used are generally atrocious.
Most of them have a footbed that is literally made of cardboard - youd be better with Regatta or Hi-Tec. Really old Karrimor good. Exhibit A being my Purple 1991 Alpiniste exped rucsac still in regular use.

They are not even the best option at the price. Dont be fooled by the Sale tags if they are asking Â30 thats the proper retail price not a special discount. If the prior reputation was good enough they can rely on this for a number of years until eventually sales drop off what was once a premium brand becomes a cheap brand. Poor quality shoes fall apart.
