An incredibly popular snowshoe the Atlas Run features a Speed Helix binding and Atlas Race features a Z-Speed Race binding. Basically this allows you to keep your run stride normal so you dont have to alter your stride.

Atlas race snowshoes review. The snowshoes are definitely lighter and smaller in diameter than the hiking-style snowshoes I have owned and tested as the racing snowshoes weigh only about one pound each. Although I prefer to run on snow with microspikes on the bottom of my running shoes the Altas racing shoes keep me above deep snow on technical strides when shoe spikes would. The Race also uses Atlas spring loaded suspension which keeps the snowshoe close under foot.
Basically this allows you to keep your run stride normal so you dont have to alter your stride. I found this to be true when I went for some easy runs on packed trails. Just run and dont think about the fact that you have snowshoes on.

I am literally a lifelong snowshoer. Before I started running in the 1970s I was out and about in the White Mountains of New Hampshire winter hiking on shoes. My first pair had an aluminum frame and gut deck and leather binding.
The Atlas Race comes armed with titanium claws high-grade aluminum frames a little more float than some racing snowshoes and a fighting weight that is cra. This shoe seems to handle a more diverse range of conditions than anyother running snowshoe. If you want a lighter snowshoe such as the Atlas Race or Dion then you will either be sacrificing durability or flotation.

I like these snowshoes except the titanium toe cramping breaks easily. Then Atlas makes you contact the retailer to set up repair through Atlas and then you have to pay shipping. How do they consider this a warranty.

While I prefer running on hardpacked trails with trail running shoes the Atlas Run snowshoes allow you to run efficiently on softer trails. Admittedly Im no snowshoeing expert so this is really a review from a newbie just getting the hang of snowshoe running.
