I discovered that salomons run small when I bought my first pair of snow boots the Salomon Toundra Mids. When purchasing those boots everybody stressed to buy a full size larger than what you typically wear. I followed the advice and bought a 13 instead of the 12.

Since I had this experience with the snow boots of having to go larger. The only problem no fault of Salomons is that the heel tread wears down after a few months because they are designed to run on dirt not pavement so its a costly habit of mine but after trying other top quality running sneakers I always find myself lured back to the Speedcross. I especially like the models that are made of Goretex which protects your feet from getting.
Yes definitely get at least a 12 size bigger. A couple of things to consider. Like you mentioned there could potentially be a lot more foot swelling especially if.
It seems that for most people they either fit true to size or run about a half size small. However there was more than one reviewer reporting that their actually ran big. So who knows whats going on with the sizing with these shoes.

Asics have progressively got tightersmaller over the years so 10 was too small so I think probably 105 for Asics now however. I switched to Hoka for road running a few months ago after being convinced by a sales guy at a marathon expo and I havent looked back. I went with size 105 so half a size bigger than my Salomon and Innov8 but probably what Id go for in an Asics shoe.

Shoes work more like running apparel than bras. Theres no standard guideline for what sizing numbers mean Gray says. So a size 10 in a Brooks Adrenaline GTS could be very different from a size.
How is the sizing. I normally wear Asics and wear a mens 105. I have read some reviews saying Salomons run small and others that say they run big.
Most of these ill attribute to people not knowing their true shoe size but it does make me wonder.
