The MSR Shift Youth Snowshoes are best for kids ages 712 and the MSR Tyker Kids Snowshoes are for kids ages 59.

Kids snowshoes to last a long time. I got one pair of MSR Shifts at the end of last winter to see if theyd work well for my girls who are now 9 and 7. As long as their boots are wide enough only an issue for the 7-year-old theyll work well.
And theyll last until their quite large. The snowshoes are well-made like everything MSR does. These are the next progression model up from MSR Denali Tykers with the additional floatation and pivoting foot attachment.
Our kids had Denali Tykers from age 2-5. Starting roughly around age 6 the Shift snowshoes become more appropriate. These are well made and I fully expect them to be handed down to several more kids just as the Tykers have been.
Ive noticed a review. The MSR Shift Snowshoes are easy to put on stay on reasonably well because face it if you dont do the straps up tightly enough any pair of snowshoes will fall off and perform in a variety of conditions. Kids will be comfortable in them and should be able to walk run and play with normal freedom.
The MSR Revo Ascent Snowshoes are a great go-to for any kind of trekespecially because you can add MSRs 5 flotation tails whenever you need a bit of extra float. Without the tails these shoes weigh about 45 pounds which is on the heavier side for 22 but certainly not out of the ordinary. The Revo Ascents arent made to be feather-light.
Starting with the Shift this youth snowshoe is designed very similarly as the adult Evo Trail above with hard plastic decking.
